Corona Emergency Aid


Applications for corona emergency aid can no longer be submitted.

Artists: You can receive one-time emergency aid (non-repayable) of up to 2,000 Euro if you get into difficulties due to the cancellation of commitments. Apply for emergency aid using a simple form from the responsible district governments. You must submit your application by 31 May 2020.

The following is required:

    • Proof of membership in the Artists’ social security fund (reference date 15.03.2020),
    • Fee agreement of the contract or the legally binding declaration as well as
    • Confirmation of residence in NRW by means of a copy of the identity card.

You have submitted an application in the regular funding process: grants that have already been approved or are still under review (deadline:   15.03.2020) will be paid out, even if your event and projects have to be cancelled or postponed.  

Loans from the Bürgschaftsbank (Guarantee Bank) NRW: You can receive a maximum guarantee amount of 2.5 million Euro from the Bürgschaftsbank (Guarantee Bank) NRW for a max. credit of 3.125 million Euro.
With an EXPRESS guarantee (within 72 hours) you can receive a maximum guarantee amount of 200,000 Euro for a loan up to a maximum of   500,000 Euro, thereby increasing the guarantee rate to 80%. Your bank has to confirm “that the loan is expected to be repaid properly after the Corona crisis has ended“.

Micromezzanine funds: You can submit an application for a Micromezzanine fund of up to 300,000 Euro for investments and working capital at the Equity investment company NRW. The term is 10 years and repayment must be made from the 8th year.

Tax relief: With a simplified form you can defer your taxes (income, corporation and trade tax) without paying interest, and you can reduce the prepayments for your taxes. You can also extend the deadline for

    • the tax return,
    • for the requested documents and receipts and
    • request a waiver of late surcharges.
